Day 1
Arrival, Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be escorted to your luxury hotel overlooking the Nile River.

Day 2
Cairo

Join your Egyptology to discover the pyramids of Egypt. Begin with the less-visited pyramids at Dashour, including both the unusual Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, which was built by the father of Cheops. Continue to Saqqara, an entire complex built by Imhotep, which is most famous for the Step Pyramid, the earliest of all classic memorials. After lunch, move on to the Great Pyramids at Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then embark on a voyage to pharaonic times at the Solar Boat Museum. Visit the mysterious Sphinx before returning to your hotel.

Day 3
Cairo

Pay a morning visit to the famed Egyptian Museum, repository of many of the glories of antiquity, including the spectacular treasures of the boy king Tutankhamen. Then descend into the past to experience the 11 royal mummies in the world-renowned Mummy Room.

Day 4
Aswan

Early this morning, return to the airport for your flight to Abu Simbel and a tour of the spectacular rock-hewn Temples of Ramses II above the banks of Lake Nasser. Continue to Aswan, where you will be met and escorted to your Nile cruiser. Enjoy lunch on board before disembarking for a visit to the impressive High Dam and the lovely Temple of Philae. Back on board, immerse yourself in Nubian culture with a lively song-and-dance performance following dinner

Day5
Kom Ombo

Sail north to Kom Ombo to see the massive temple shared by the gods Sobek and Harocies. Re-board your ship in time for a relaxing lunch as you continue downriver to Edfu. Here you will visit the famed shrine of the Falcon God Horus, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Egypt. This evening, sail toward Luxor and enjoy dinner on board.

Day 6
Luxor

Pass through the Esna locks this morning before arriving in Luxor in time for lunch. This afternoon, disembark to explore the impressive Karnak and the Luxor Temples.

Explore remote village and turquoise Lake

This morning, visit the West Bank and explore the tombs in the stunning Valley of the Kings. Then it's on to the striking Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which is framed by towering cliffs. Afterward, return by air to Cairo.

Day8
Retrace steps back to earlier camp

Marvel at the highlights of Islamic and Coptic Cairo, and visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which, according to legend, was built on the site where the baby Moses was found in the reeds. Enjoy lunch before embarking on an exploration of the labyrinth of shops and alleyways in the ancient Khan el-Khalili souq, one of the world's oldest marketplaces
